The spirit of Bisate Lodge
Bisate Lodge enjoys a truly dramatic natural setting at the heart of an amphitheatre formed by eroded volcano cones. Twelve conically shaped thatched forest villas are tucked into the lush forest setting, spacious verandas opening out onto magnificent views of the surrounding peaks. The traditional shapes of the suites are a nod to Rwandan culture, while the sumptuous interiors maximise comfort and warmth while making the most of the scenic views.
What we love about Bisate Lodge
• Spend some time in the lodge’s nursery and help in the area’s reforestation by planting a tree.
• Join the lodge’s chef when he ventures out to the local market for the day’s fresh ingredients and meet the warm and welcoming people.
• Trek the Gorillas ...a once in a lifetime experience by far one of my career highlights coming face to face with these gentle giants ...
Singita Kwitonda Lodge
Set in Rwanda’s northwestern reaches, right on the edge of Volcanoes National Park, Singita Kwitonda Lodge’s unparalleled position puts life-changing gorilla-trekking experiences within easy reach.
In response to its exquisite location, each of the lodge’s eight luxurious suites features a private heated plunge pool, in- and outdoor fireplaces and large timber-framed windows that welcome the breath-taking scenery and volcano views inside. Elements like woven ceilings and hand-fired terracotta brickwork crafted by local artisans highlight the authentic East African appeal of this remarkable lodge.
"Spending time tracking and sitting with mountain gorillas is the ultimate wildlife experience and the reason why most people visit Rwanda on holiday"
