In the heart of the game-rich Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the world-renowned Kruger National Park, we have created an iconic destination, which is as close to perfection as any place in Africa can take you. River Lodge has a feel of lived-in luxury and guests are invited to make themselves at home. 8 Luxury rooms have bathroom en-suite, lounge area with mini bar and wooden deck from which to appreciate the wild beyond. 6 Superior Luxury rooms are larger in size, and have ample open-plan bathrooms and outdoor showers. 4 of the 6 Rooms are interleading, and are therefore ideal for families and 4 River Suites (including a two bedroom and one bathroom River Suite) are located further from the public areas and are therefore more private. They have incredible river views, best appreciate from the decks. These Suites all have their own private plunge pools and also outdoor showers. Includes: all meals; teas/coffees; maxi-bar in room; selected premium brand beers, spirits, cellar wines and champagnes; two game drives daily with FGASA-accredited field guide and tracker; game drive refreshments and snacks; specified inclusive safari activities.

The Wild Life. Africa has been called the greatest show on earth, and Lion Sands presents a safari that plays out like a highlights reel. The reserve conserves 5 000ha (12 500ac) of a habitat that is home to the highest and most diverse concentration of wildlife in the southern hemisphere. You will see all of Africa’s iconic species – lion leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, and zebra – along with a supporting cast of no less intriguing 137 mammal species and over 450 varieties of bird. The safaris present an adventure that is wild, and then some! Specialist activities included: Game drives; bush walks; hippo experience; stargazing; wildlife lectures; bush breakfasts, picnic lunches and bush dinners; Henna Pre-School visit (excludes weekends, school holidays and public holidays).
