Dear Gelle, Thank you so much.
We loved South Africa. It is a beautiful part of the world that we never expected to see. Thank you so much for your hard work, especially when things went awry with our International Flights . I always had faith that you would see us through. And you did. We are grateful.
Cape Town was beautiful. We enjoyed our Waterfront hotel immensely. An unexpected plus was the abundance of shopping areas nearby--so convenient when we had to spend our first morning shopping for clothes due to our missing luggage. We were able to rent a car that first day and enjoyed a drive around the Cape---with a memorable stop to see the penguins (Simon's Town) and then a visit to the Cape of Good Hope where we saw two ostrich--a visual treat.
Stellenbosch was breathtaking. John was a great host, and the kids enjoyed his company as well. Coopmanhuijs was a special hotel--very quaint and comfortable.
We enjoyed a lovely day and evening with our friends the Deyzels .We can see how fun Hermanus would be in the summertime, and imagined coming back one day.
Another day in Cape Town delighted us with the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens and a ride up to Table Mountain. We were oohing and aahing all day.
And then there was Kruger. Words really can not describe the time we spent there. It was so special. We had four full days of Safari rides, and our ranger was exceptional--both in his knowledge of the wildlife and his kind and humorous nature. We saw an abundance of wild animals and beautiful birds. Jock's Safari Lodge was so delightful. The accommodations were beyond our expectations.
This was a trip of a lifetime...and one that we will savor for a long, long time.
Many thanks for all that you did to make it so special. Cathy, Jeff, Sophie and Luke Schreiber ( USA June 2015 )
